Rincon Classic Video Contest at CI

This 2013 I am excited to be on the official staff for the annual locals only event, The Rincon Classic Surf competition. Contest director Chris Keets introduced a new video contest this year and he asked me to be the host with him. I was a little nervous but I was stoked to announce everyone's videos at the Santa Barbara Channel Islands Shop and help out with Demi Bolsteri's raffle for her to get on the ASP Women's World Tour. Thanks again to the Santa Barbara Independent for hosting the video voting on their site, Mad Dogs for providing yummy treats, Caribbean Coffee for getting us all jacked up, and Surf Happens for hosting the event.

This year in Santa Barbara surfing history, I was blessed to be apart of the amazing Rincon Classic 2012 surf contest staff! I was stoked to donate my time and energy to one of our community's most anticipated winter events and so happy to make some new friends along the way. Two Santa Barbara events you do not want to miss!

It is finally done. Stacy Peralta's latest film... The Bones Brigade: An Autobiography.

As a Santa Barbara native, I was always surrounded by skateboarding and surfing. There is just something about this town that breads this creatively infused lifestyle. As many of you may or may not know, Powell-Peralta is a local Santa Barbara company that has deep routs in the skateboard industry. When I say deep, I mean DEEP. The Bones Brigade docmentary is "an emotional, intimate, and exciting film about a group of dorky American boys who turned skateboarding from a fringe pastime to a thrilling action sport and a multi-million dollar industry." It currently is at Sundance in Utah and then the second showing in its history will be at the Santa Barbara Film Festival. If you thinking about watching this flick, I strongly suggest you get there early. Red Carpet event starts at 7 PM Thursday February 2, 2012 at The Arlingon Theatre. Tommy Guerro, Steve Caballero, Rodney Mullen, Lance Mountain, Mike McGill, Stacy Peralta and George Powell have all confirmed their attendance and a Q & A will be held after the show. Tony Hawk will unfortunately be out of the country and will not be able to attend. Hope to see you there!

The Ladies of The Rincon Classic

This past weekend, Surf Happens hosted Santa Barbara County's annual premier surf event, The 2011 Quicksilver Rincon Classic presented by Channel Islands Surfboards. I am a huge fan of this event because it supports local surfers and brings our surfing community together to celebrate SB's best Point Break. While my Beau was off competing with the rest of da boys, I took a moment to photograph some of my hotty friends down at The Con. More pictures to come.
