Saint Barbara:: Funk Zone Mural

After a long flight home from Bali, I woke up a day later to my favorite weekend in Santa Barbara, Summer Solstice. I was excited to get back into the swing of things here in SB and delighted that I had a second opportunity to paint in the Funk Zone. Laura Inks, the program director for the Funk Zone Community Art Project approached me for a weekend of painting during the Solstice festivities. Between hanging out with the other artists while we worked and the parade, it was an offer I couldn't refuse. My piece is a traditional homage to my town and all my friends who call them selves locals. Special thank you to Laura Inks, Danny Meza for helping me with the Saint Barbara lettering, and Gabe Marquez from 400 Media for getting this shoot organized. Learn more about Saint Barbara here, or Santa Barbara in Spanish if you prefer.

SB Breezy

It is always an honor to work with my bud Derren over at DNA Imagery. He is extremely talented and is charging forward with his design studio DNA. Check the site out here. Here are a couple shots we took the other day in SB on his partner and girlfriend Ana's fixie at Chase Palm Park. Styled myself as always.

The World is Ours

Camping is one of my all time favorite things to do. A couple of days ago, my buddy Patrick and his amazing wife Rachel took Kilian and I to the best place to camp right above SB. I would tell you where it is but then I wouldn't really be a local now would I?

Enjoy the pics I took, I am getting back into my photography! xo

Earth Day in SB

The Earth is definatley something to be celebrated and last weekend, I did just that at the Santa Barbara Earth Day festival at Alemda Park. I am proud to say that it was founded in Santa Barbara, CA in 1969 so the festival is something very special to the community. This year, I was pretty interested in the car show they had on display as I am looking to upgrade my wheels to something more functional. After Kilian and I munched on a French POrk Bánh mì from the O Street Truck, we went up to the SB Mountains with Courtney and Nick. Perfect way to watch the sunset and appreciate the peace of Earth I am the most grateful for ... SB!

Troy and Becca's Visit To Cali

I am truly blessed to have such an amazing family! I can't tell you how long I was waiting for this trip to take place, but when it finally came, I was beyond happy! My first cousin Rebecca and her beau of 8 years Troy Kanuha came to visit me in Cali for a couple of days from the Big Island of Hawaii. We spent the days stay-cationing around SB and going to The Happiest Place on Earth... Disneyland. Here are a couple of pics from their trip to Cali!
A classic photo at the Santa Barbara Mission's Rose Gardens.
What would a trip to SB be without wine tasting.... Here they are a Kunin in the Funk Zone
Yummy!
Inspiring hike at Inspiration Point
Cousins... double trouble!

The Jungle Boat ride at Disneyland

Look! It's a tiger!

This is pretty much my favorite ride...

Teacups!
Actually, Storybook Land is my favorite ride!
Agrabah!!
Did you know that all the plants on the Storybook ride are real and made to be miniature?! Some of them are one of the oldest things at the park! Amazing if you ask me.
Pure Magic

I was really scared... at The Hollywood Hotel !!
California Land
MWAH!
A night out in SB at The Savoy

So happy to have my family in town! Words cannot express! xoxoxo
