Epsom Salt. I am sure you have heard of it, know what it is or seen it at your friends house before but I thought I would post on it because it truly is magical. Epsom Salt isn't actually a salt, it is a naturally occurring pure mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate and is named after a bitter saline spring at Epsom in Surrey, England. I know I did a post a week or two ago about my Energy Cleansing Bath Elixir- but I wanted to expand and follow up with Epsom Salt if you don't want to get all fancy with herbs or you are an athlete. If you are interested in detoxifying baths, I strongly suggest you head over to your nearest CVS and pick a gallon of this stuff for $2. The price is awesome and it is so readily available at drug stores. For the ultimate detoxing bath, I suggest two cups of Epsom Salt and about 3 tablespoons of baking soda.
Studies have shown that magnesium and sulfate are both readily absorbed through the skin, making Epsom salt baths an easy and ideal way to enjoy the amazing health benefits. Magnesium plays a number of roles in the body including regulating the activity of over 325 enzymes, reducing inflammation, helping muscle and nerve function and helping to prevent artery hardening. Sulfates help improve the absorption of nutrients, flush toxins and help ease migraine headaches.
